Testimonials

Cindy Aden
Professor at University of Washington

I feel so fortunate that Julie offered me her coaching services, just as I was approaching a major transition. We all have friends and family we can talk to, but having a coach means there is time reserved for you, where you can focus in on your own priorities, concerns and even preoccupations—without apology—and work through everything you are trying to do.

Julie was a great listener, was organized and kept track of things I had said and where I asked for support. She gave affirmative feedback and was able to tie things together, by reminding me of things I had said and done earlier. I even parked a long to-do list with Julie, which allowed me to work through it steadily. Knowing she was going to ask me about my tasks kept me focused, even when I wasn't with her.

The Values Indentifier tool was so helpful, and it gave us a foundation to start exploring what it was that I need to make sure to include in my next role. I cannot speak highly enough of the experience, and I would recommend it for everyone.

UX/UI Designer

Working with Julie, I felt truly heard, supported, and challenged in all the right ways. Her thoughtful guidance and insightful questions helped me gain clarity about myself and my career goals, recognize my strengths, and navigate some complex life decisions with greater confidence.

Each session was flexible yet purposefully structured. Julie asked the right questions, offered honest and constructive feedback, and shared practical tools I could apply immediately. Her gracious presence and deep passion for this work are evident in every interaction

I'm incredibly grateful for the perspective and empowerment she's given me, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking not just career advancement, but meaningful personal growth.

I am profoundly grateful for Julie’s honesty, integrity, and compassion. The way she connects with people—truly sees them—is incredibly rare. When we went through my Values Identifier, I’ll admit I was a bit surprised by the results. But Julie walked alongside me every step of the way, helping me understand how those values genuinely reflected who I am and what matters most to me.

She listens with real care, supports without hesitation, and offers guidance free of judgment. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, Julie is a beautiful reminder that some people still lead with heart and purpose. I am genuinely excited for my next session. Julie deeply wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, and it shows. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking growth, healing, or strengthened relationships.

Mike Kraljevich
Captain of FT Unimak

Julie and I worked closely together from 2008-2014 when I was the Captain on the F/T Unimak, an offshore vessel which operated in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska. We sustainably caught and froze thousands of metric tons of multispecies fish. Julie was our Sales and Marketing Director and a touchpoint to valuable market information which enabled us to target fish that was most sellable.

Julie and her team worked collaboratively with onshore personnel to set up offloads, book cargo and direct the product sales to China, Japan, and Europe, primarily. We depended on her expertise to connect what we caught to the international commodity markets. Julie was always professional and authentic and is greatly respected and trusted in the industry and by our customers in the U.S as well as the rest of the world.

We saw her in action many times – with our crew leadership team (factory managers, mates, deck crew) during her visits to Dutch Harbor and at team meetings in Seattle, and also with our customers abroad. I was one of the captains invited to visit our buyers and their factories in China where much of our product was sold. On that trip, I was impressed with the rapport and grounded communication that Julie had with the Chinese factory owners and managers. She’s a good negotiator and watching her at work was a great learning experience.

I truly feel that the success of our company was due to Julie’s ever-present positive attitude and her ability to connect with almost everyone. Her stellar reputation as an industry leader was built on a commitment to open communication and a willingness to learn and understand our side of the business. She also took the time to teach us and connect us to the people and companies utilizing what we caught.

Working Together

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Let's get to know each other first. Book a free 45 minute intro session to discuss what you would like to work on and what you are hoping to achieve. Ask me any questions about my practice and process. Our meet and greet session can be online or in person in the Seattle area. Make an online appointment or use my contact form and I'll reach out to you. If we mutually decide to continue, we'll set up our schedule, sign a coaching agreement, and get started.

How does this work?

My job as a coach is to help you identify and refine your goals, eliminate the barriers that stand in your way and help you take the action to make those outcomes your realities. Together we will create a personalized plan for your journey prior to beginning the work. This commitment to each other will be included in the coaching agreement.

I've found that the people who get the best traction and results are those who dig in solidly with me for around 10 sessions, meeting every week or every other week. Each session will be a minimum of 60 minutes and up to 90 minutes based on availability and progress tackling our work for that session.

Not ready to commit to 10 sessions? Start with a Values Identifier coaching package. It's a 2-session commitment.

What is Values Identifier (VI)?

The Values Identifier is a first-of-its-kind, data-backed assessment that reveals your top personal values and shows how they shape every part of your life. I'm excited to be one of the founding Values Identifier coaches. The VI assessments are personalized, practical, and rooted in social science research. I utilize these reports to set the foundation of our work together. No fluff. Just personalized insight you can act on immediately. Your values shape how you think, act and connect with others. VI is also launching their Teams reports which can be utilized for work and organizational group coaching services.

What are your values?

My personal values from Values Identifier are: relationships, experiences, friendships, creativity, loyalty, compassion, generosity, leisure, trustworthiness, and possessions. These values are at the core of my coaching practice. For a deeper dive on how these values are reflected in my life, go to About Me

What is your coaching style?

Both coaching and psychotherapy utilize knowledge of human behavior, motivation and behavioral change and interactive counseling techniques, but the focus of coaching is the development and implementation of strategies that will help people to reach their identified goals of enhanced performance and personal satisfaction. The relationship between the Coach and Coachee is specifically designed to avoid the power differentials that occur in the psychotherapy relationship.

As your coach, I will be both direct and challenging. In our work together, you can count on me to be professional, genuine, and actively listening as I work with you to make changes. I can't promise anything about the results you will achieve but I will promise to give you my best and am committed to being fully present in your journey.

What is your confidentiality policy?

You'll hear me say: “It's your story to tell.” We all have our own personal stories which define our lives, the decisions we've made and explain turning points or key moments. I'm interested in and curious to hear your stories and discuss ways and methods to utilize your life learning. As your coach, I will do everything in my power to keep confidential all communications between you and me. Your stories are safe with me. Bottom line, I will be rigorous about The International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics.

What is your payment policy?

Our first 45 minute intro session is free. After that:

  • Shine Light Values Identifier Coaching (2 sessions): 100% paid in advance
  • Spark Joy Transition Coaching (6 sessions): 100% paid in advance

What is your cancellation policy?

Please contact me by text or a phone call if you need to cancel. For cancellations less than 24 hours in advance, I'll make a good faith effort to fill the time, and/or I'll find out if you and I can reschedule within a day or two. Otherwise, I may have to count the time missed as a session and charge you. If you don't show up for a scheduled time, I'll call or text you. And if I fail to show up for one of our meetings, the next one's on me. I make an exception for late cancellations due to illness and family emergencies.
